One of our businesses, Jigsaw, provides jobs at Award wages to people with disability.

Jigsaw is a digitisation and document management service – we scan things for other businesses who are trying to become more efficient and use less paper. There are a whole range of jobs associated with doing this work – document preparation, specialist scanning, data and document management, quality control, project and relationship management to name a few.

Usually, we get everyone to try out Jigsaw with a work experience placement first, to see if you like the work and to make sure we can provide the right supports to enable your success in the workplace. After a work experience placement, there may be an ongoing paid position for you at Jigsaw, depending on how your work experience went, and once you have reached a certain level of skill, quality of work, and independence. We can also provide a reference for you, and a range of other support to assist you transition to a job in the mainstream workforce, if that’s your goal.

To find out more about a job or work experience placement, please make an enquiry with Jigsaw here

Avenue is a day program where people of all abilities are supported to do work tasks, socialise and develop their individual skills, regardless of their support needs.

At the heart of Avenue are work teams which empower people with a disability to engage in meaningful & supported work tasks. Each work team consists of participants with similar interests working together to generate revenue which is shared among participants. We have hubs across Sydney in Parramatta, Botany and Frenchs Forest as well as a brand new hub in Newcastle. In addition, our Avenue+ hub located in Frenchs Forest offers a specialised service for those requiring complex more behaviour support in a fit-for-purpose space.

Please send an enquiry to Avenue here to find out more.

We offer work experience to people 15 years of age or older, within both of our businesses, Jigsaw and Avenue. In our experience, it can be tough to get a job or a chance at an opportunity if you don’t have any experience on your resume, or have been out of work for some time.

Our work experience program can help you take that first step on the pathway to a job. You can learn a range of skills within a real business, as well as have access to our Learning Programs in social skills, workplace etiquette and job readiness.

The work experience program is free to those who may not have funding, thanks to the generous support of our donors. Otherwise it can be funded through an NDIS package, other government funding, self-funded, or we are happy to talk about any other arrangement that would work for you.

Please phone our team on (02) 9905 0415 or email hello@fightingchance.org.au and we can talk more about work experience.

Avenue Learning Workshops provides a range of learning and skill development opportunities for people with a disability. Hosted by qualified class instructors, you will be supported to learn new skills with your peers, in a fun and educational format. Classes and workshops are open to people of all abilities and you don’t have to be a participant at Avenue or Jigsaw to get involved!

For more information, please contact the Avenue Learning team via  (02) 9905 0415 or email hello@avenuecoworking.org.au and we can talk more about Avenue Learning Workshops.

Saturday Hangouts is a weekend activity run as part of Avenue Social at Avenue Frenchs Forest.

Kids and teenagers on the autism spectrum get together to have fun and build social skills through gaming.

Saturday Hangouts is held each each Saturday from 10:00am – 1:00pm at our Frenchs Forest Coworking Space.

Attendance fees can be funded through an NDIS package, other government funding or self-funded.

For more information, or to set up a free no-obligation trial, please email the Avenue Social coordinator in Frenchs Forest at social.frenchsforest@avenuecoworking.org.au.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (or NDIS) is a significant change to the way people with disability are funded and supported by the Government. Fighting Chance has been experiencing the transition to NDIS along with our community on the Northern Beaches of Sydney since mid-2016 and we have learnt a lot along the way.

If you need any advice about what the NDIS means for you, how to prepare for the transition to NDIS, or how to navigate the new system of funding once you have transitioned, we would love to share our experiences with you and see if we can help.

You do not need to be a Fighting Chance participant to access this support, and we will not charge you for providing this advice.

Please give us a call on (02) 9905 0415 or email hello@fightingchance.org.au with your NDIS question.

If you are a recent school leaver with funding for a School Leavers Employment Support program, then we would love to talk to you. We run a specific Learning Program at our business, Jigsaw, for School Leavers. The program usually takes people on for two years, immediately after leaving school.

Jigsaw is a digitisation and document management service – we scan things for other businesses who are trying to become more efficient and use less paper. There are a whole range of jobs associated with doing this work – document preparation, specialist scanning, data and document management, quality control, project and relationship management to name a few.

You can learn a range of skills within this real business, as well as have access to Learning Programs in social skills, workplace etiquette and job readiness. Learning Programs can be tailored to your needs, but typically involve a range of small group learning and activities, as well as one to one mentoring.

At the end of your program, there may be an ongoing paid position for you at Jigsaw. We can also provide a reference for you, and a range of other support to assist you transition to a job in the mainstream workforce, or on to further education and training, depending on what your goal is.

Please phone our team on (02) 9905 0415 or email hello@fightingchance.org.au and we can talk more about our School Leavers Program.

We would love to show you around our businesses so you can see how we work and learn more about our programs and what might be right for you. Please phone our team on (02) 9905 0415 or email hello@fightingchance.org.au and we can set up a time for you to come and see us.
